Introducing Water Works: MFA (Maryland Federation of Art) invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico to enter its 3rd annual Water Works competition. Any original 2-D or 3-D work in which water is depicted as the primary force, object, or consequence is eligible. Pinelands 2nd Annual Juried Photographic Exhibition: The Pinelands Preservation Alliance is announcing its second annual juried photographic exhibit. Black and white color images taken with the boundaries of the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve depicting its landscape, flora, wildlife, communities and people will be accepted. Within the one million plus acres of the Pinelands are streams, rivers, old cranberry bogs, wildlife, Batsto Village and opportunities to kayak the rivers to capture a prize-winning photograph. Works selected will be on exhibit at the PPA Headquarters in Southampton, NJ from November 3 to December 7, 2018. The Annual Members’ Exhibition: The Museum at 60: The Academy Art Museum is celebrating its 60thAnniversary and is suggesting the theme of “60” for the 2018 Members’ Exhibition.  The Museum is inviting members to get creative, imaginative, and experimental around the suggested “60” theme in any medium. Works will be on exhibit from November 16, 2018 to January 13, 2019.  A reception will be held on November 16, 2018 from 5:30pm-7pm.  Online submissions will be open from October 1 through November 1, 2018. https://academyartmuseum.org/exhibition/annual-members-exhibition-museum-60/

Maryland Natural Resources: The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is accepting entries for its 15thannual photo contest.  Contest categories include birds, flora, insects, outdoor recreation, nature in action, scenic landscapes and wildlife. Dorchester Center for the Arts Showcase: The 42nd Annual DCA Showcase will be held Sunday, September 23 from 12pm-5pm.  This is an art walk and street festival along historic High Street in Cambridge.
