Post Processing SIG

The Post Processing SIG provides a platform for Club members to pose questions relating to image processing. It is expected that other club members will be willing and able to share tips and suggestions in response to those questions. In the absence of questions, the Coordinator will have some prepared processing tip to share with the group. A club email address has been set up to receive questions from members — question@tidewatercameraclub.org .  Initially, all questions will be used exclusively by the SIG to select meaningful content for the time allotted, but down the road, the questions could be shared with a second group of members willing to help answer questions or mentor those with questions.

Discussion Format:

The time after the break on Competition Meeting dates will be utilized in the following ways:

  1. To present processing theory and methods in a hands on demonstration from within Lightroom and Photoshop.
  2. To adjust member supplied images either as a demonstration of a method or technique or as an answer to a specific member posed question about an image.
  3. Preference will be given to member posed questions and member submitted images.

Landscape Photography SIG

At the first meeting, the group agreed that, instead of a meet-up in October, we all would photograph a selected location individually, as our schedules permitted.

  • We would bring one post-processed image to our next SIG meeting, scheduled for November 19, for discussion.
    • The image can be printed, in which case we will pass it around and then discuss it, or
    • the image can be an electronic file that we will view on a computer screen or project, and then discuss.
  • We decided that each of us would suggest one location (local – in the Tilghman-Easton-Oxford area) for the group to photograph and send that suggestion to me. I will then make the final decision, and let you know in a timely manner the selected location so you can plan your shoot.

The SIG coordinator, Norm Bell will communicate with group members directly.  To contact Norm please email him at normanbell45@gmail.com

Wildlife Photography SIG

The following are among our primary objectives during the second hour of the comp. meeting and beyond:

  1. List locations for wildlife shoots
  2. Critique images taken by SIG members
  3. Discuss techniques used to obtain images in the field
  4. Organize field trips both local and out of town.

We have tentatively organized our first trip to be at Assateague Island National Seashore.

The SIG coordinator, Joe Soares will communicate with group members directly.  To contact Joe please email him at jhsoares@aol.com
